Your Anniversaries

Accessibility

“Your Anniversaries” is built for VoiceOver and the accessibility features of iOS and has been tested on a real iPhone. This page shows what has been tested and what was built for it.

Tested on a device

VoiceOver: screen by screen

In September 2026 the app was walked through completely with VoiceOver switched on, on an iPhone – not skimmed, but screen by screen. Tested and working:

  • the home screen with countdown, tiles and milestone
  • the timeline including map band, statistics and year jump
  • the recaps, list and editing sheet alike
  • the form for creating an anniversary, from start to “Save”
  • all areas of Settings
  • the single and overview maps – pins announce their title
  • the first launch: name prompt, empty state, “Add a new anniversary”
  • the photo stack and full screen, including swiping between images
  • voice recording – recording, playing back, importing
  • restoring a backup while VoiceOver is running
  • the widget

New features are built from the same building blocks: labels for every control, confirmations as alerts instead of action sheets, and fully written-out spoken texts for dates and numbers.

Built in on purpose

What was done for it

Large text

The app grows with the iOS text size – up to the largest accessibility size. Text wraps instead of being cut off. Tested on an iPhone 14 Pro and an iPhone SE.

Reduced motion

With “Reduce Motion” turned on, the flying heart at launch, the confetti, the turning sun of the hours tile and the animation when opening a letter are skipped.

Descriptions for your photos

You can add a short description to every photo. It is read aloud everywhere, all the way into full screen. The nine included illustrations have fixed descriptions too – a day without a photo of its own is never silent.

The right voice

The app is available in English and German and follows your iPhone’s language. VoiceOver reads it in the matching voice and pronounces dates and numbers correctly.

Confirmations that are easy to answer

Every safety confirmation is an alert with two clearly reachable buttons. Action sheets aren’t used – with them the VoiceOver focus gets stuck.

Two color worlds

Linen is light, Midnight is dark. “Automatic” follows your iPhone’s setting, but you can also choose one yourself.
